What's on at Cowdray this autumn

Cowdray saw a flourish of activity during August, particularly due to the popularity of its Maize Maze, which attracted visitors from far and wide. There's a whole host of further acitivities planned for the autumn, so join us as we take a look.

Family Foraging Scavenger Hunt


Join the Family Foraging Adventure at Cowdray Estate, an enchanting journey specially crafted for junior explorers and inquisitive minds of all ages! During this late summer stroll, Estate forager George will teach you all about the identification and uses of a diverse array of wild vegetables and herbs scattered throughout the surroundings. Guests will also get to discuss and look at the incredible variety of edible mushrooms that can be found at this time, learning the systems that create them and offering guests a chance to understand the what, where, how and when of mushrooms.

Thursday 12th September, 9-11pm
Stargazing Experience


Join in an evening of Stargazing and venture on a fascinating guided tour of the night sky with local astronomer Dr John Mason MBE. Cowdray lies within the South Downs National Park which is an International Dark Sky Reserve, making it the perfect place to cast your gaze upwards and learn all about the brightest stars, constellations, myths and legends of the stars, and much more.

Friday 20th September
Golf Club Quiz Night


Get ready to bring your A-game and head to Cowdray Golf Club for a fun-filled evening of quizzing. There will be prizes and a delicious dinner of homemade steak pie, chips and peas.

Wood Fired Pizza


September marks the final month that Cowdray's delicious wood-fired pizzas are available for take-away from the Farm Shop Courtyard. Made with delicious sourdough bases by the in-house team of chefs and all cooked in their wood-fired oven, these are not to be missed. Orders taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
