Say I do at Slindon House, a Georgian manor in the South Downs National Park

Slindon House, a striking Georgian style manor house, is a wedding venue set within the stunning South Downs National Park. The House is sited on a high shelf of the South Downs with a fine view over parkland to the south where the ground drops steadily to the coast. With uninterrupted views to the sea, the 14-acre setting offers a beautiful atmosphere for weddings.

The grounds are extensive here, with a sensory garden featuring an arbour, secret paths meandering through woodland and the Lower Garden. You’re spoilt for choice of scenic spots to pitch a luxury marquee, ideal for large parties of up to 200.

Civil ceremonies can be held in the Great Hall (120 guests) or the Blue Room (60 guests). A large double-height room with ornate ceiling plasterwork, it has a large Georginan fi replace and oak flooring. There are also a number of large floor-to-ceiling mullioned windows making it fabulously light and airy. The space can also host 130 for your reception.

The Blue Room and Green Room are further options. The former, decorated in Wedgewood blue, is available for the “I dos” (60 guests) and reception (55 guests); while the latter adorned in heritage green, is available for post-ceremony celebrations only (55 guests). Both feature Georgian marble fireplaces, detail framed walls and French doors leading onto the patio area and lawn beyond.

The large Georginan-glazed, wood-framed Orangery meanwhile, can accommodate 70 standing and is perfect for arrival drinks and canapés.

Whether you choose to host your reception within the rooms of the House, or set up a marquee among the grounds, Slindon House will be exclusively yours for the day and you’ll have plenty of time the day before to dress it according to your vision, subject to availability.
